Our Kindergarten through Fifth program provides the structure and formation needed for early catechesis. Offering in-person and at-home sessions allows families the flexibility to not only have the church educate their children through classroom instruction, but provide the support for the parents to guide their child's faith.
Discover! Finding Faith in Life will allow our students to use the Scripture as the heart of their faith formation. Kindergarten students will utilize colorful Bible story booklets designed for their understanding, while students 1-5 will utilize the Catholic Children's Bible.
Program highlights include:
- The Bible is the Primary Text
- Promotes Bible literacy and an in-depth familiarity with and knowledge of key Scripture stories throughout the Old and New Testaments.
- Based on Principles of Engaged, Active Learning
- Lessons are designed to foster a deep understanding of the concepts presented through an active-learning approach. Experiential and interactive processes create energy and excitement for both the catechist and the children.
- Child-Centered Design
- Information and activities are presented using the language and experiences of the child to create the ideal environment for real, engaged learning.
- Rooted in a "Discover" Approach
- The content helps the children make connections with previous experiences and knowledge and invites them to deepen both as they discover new concepts and practices in the Catholic tradition.
- Clear and Practical structure
- Each grade level is structured in the same way: four units with five chapters each, along with eight liturgical season chapters to incorporate in the flow of the catechetical year
