EDGE

EDGE is part catechesis & part ministry for Middle Schoolers (grades 6-8).
Rather than a classroom setting, EDGE gathers Middle Schoolers in a large group event setting. We eat, play games, & then proclaim the Catholic Faith in a short, but impactful teaching. From there, we break into smaller groups of 6-7 Middle Schoolers (based on grade) with an EDGE Core Team Small Group Leader to help break open the talk. Middle Schoolers are encouraged to ask questions to engage the Lord & our Faith in a new way. To end each night, we come back as a large group for the sending out on mission: to live the Catholic Faith that week in a new way.
EDGE will take place on Mondays from 5:45-7pm..
Family Faith Nights will also continue for Middle Schoolers and families (rebranded as "EDGE Family Nights"). Twice a year,
EDGE Family Nights will take the place of the regular
EDGE session. At these events, Middle Schoolers and families are invited to meet and listen to a dynamic Catholic guest speaker. These events happen once in the Fall and once in the Winter.
FAQs
What is the difference between In-Person and At-Home?
In-Person: It is so much more fun! This option provides a non-traditional large group and small group setting. We are never in a classroom. The EDGE model is: Gather-Proclaim-Break-Send. During the Gather we provide a snack and a game. The Proclaim begins with prayer and transitions into an exciting teaching at each session. After the teaching, middle schoolers Break off into consistent grade-specific Small Groups with a dedicated EDGE Core Member where they are encouraged to ask questions and break open their Catholic faith in a way that makes sense to them! The evening concludes with the Send that encourages the middle schoolers to live out their Catholic Faith in a new way.
At-Home: Provides the video of the teaching with a few questions to be answered each week.
Can I switch between At-Home & In-Person during the year?
Yes! We record each session, so that everyone (At-Home or In-Person) receives the same information.
What do I do if I miss an assignment?
Since we record each teaching session, you will receive a Flocknote with a link to a short assignment based on the teaching.
Is there homework?
In-Person: No. There is never homework assignments for the In-Person option! Small Groups discuss questions after each teaching.
At-Home: Yes. There is a short assignment based on the teaching for each session to be completed each week.
